This webinar marked HEAL Foundation’s second foundation day and brought together practitioners, researchers, and policy stakeholders for a focused dialogue. The session examined key challenges and emerging opportunities at the intersection of healthcare delivery and psychosocial care, emphasising how social, economic, cultural, and systemic determinants collectively influence health equity outcomes among diverse and underserved populations across India.
February 2016-2019
This policy advocacy initiative was participatory action research translating evidence on mistreatment during childbirth into institutional change. Through collaborative engagement with healthcare providers and civil society, the project strengthened accountability, improved labour room practices, and advanced respectful, rights-based maternity care, demonstrating how evidence-driven processes can inform policy, shift organisational culture, and promote health equity for women.
